Where is "The Closet?"
Mommy got lucky; Daddy needed a part for the 'Uno Mas' so he flew back to FL, only to learn he also needed a part for the plane so he had to stay in FL overnight. She wasn't alone last night because Daddy was at home.
Mommy called tonight, as she always does. I listened in on her conversation with Aunt Crystal after I talked to her. Mommy seemed a little upset.
Apparently, a man who calls himself "Boot" made a comment that Mommy considered negative. He commented on a man who came out of "the closet" late in life. Mommy wasn't sure why this comment was made, aside from the fact that he was talking about his family & his sister who was once married to this individual. Mommy is a firm believer in "the closet," and has researched those who spend time there. She can substantiate the "closet" dilemma with scientific data, which she did.
Daddy got upset that she voiced the facts on "the closet." Mommy says that people who spend time there were born to visit there before "coming out." My Uncle Will spent time there. So did his partner of 5 years, Ben. I think I've mentioned that Uncle Will graduated from Harvard. That's where he met Ben who is a graduate of Oxford. 30% of the males in Uncle Will's graduating class visited and came out of "the closet," hence one can draw the conclusion that there are a lot of very bright people who visit there. Mommy didn't always understand "the closet," but took the time to research it before forming any opinions because Uncle Will is her favorite brother.
This is a topic that my mommy feels very strongly about; Daddy should try to be more understanding, even if he doesn't possess the knowledge, on this topic, that Mommy does. From what Mommy says, it's pretty simple - people are who they are and no one should be discriminated against for any reason. Mommy taught me to be kind to everyone very early on. I'm a grey tabby; so is Wahoo. Thomas & Floyd are orange tabbies. They're my friends, even though we are very different. Maybe, one day, my parents will fill me in on where "the closet" is. Until then . . . catch ya' later. --AJ the Kitty Boy
